Three Months!

As of today, there are only THREE MONTHS left until I hop on a jet plane and cross the ocean! Holy cow! I made my second payment yesterday, which means, I only have to make one more payment of our own money! The other half of the trip, praise the Lord, will be paid by my TEACH grant! One thing God has been teaching me lately is that even though I may not understand why something has happened, it is still all according to His will. I was in a car accident last month that totaled my volvo. I couldn't see how in the world that could ever lead to anything good. But it turns out that since my car was totaled, we are getting about $4,600 for it. With that money, we were able to get a different car for me to drive, and pay for half of the Spain trip. God took something awful and turned it into something good. I would have never imagined something like this. Even though bad things may happen,God makes everything work together for those who love Him. And oh how I love Him!

"And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose." -Romans 8:28

I can't believe that I get to spend a whole month here this summer! It's going to be like stepping into a storybook. I still can't wrap my head around it. I've been out of the country only once in my life, and that was to the Canadian side of Niagara Falls. It wasn't any different. I've only flown twice, and that was like seven or eight years ago. This summer is going to be something like I've never experienced before. I have to admit, I am a little nervous. But I think that has more to do with the unknown. I don't know anyone in the group that I'm going with. 

I don't know what it's like to...

be on a plane for longer than 3 hours

travel internationally

cross an ocean

be in another country

not see any of my friends or family for an entire month 

be without my support system.

Even though there is so much about this summer that is unknown, I know that everything will be alright, because "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." -Jeremiah 29:11

And the wait begins...

Paid my first deposit last week! 117 days till I leave for Spain! I'm so excited!
